We invite you to be a part of our 2010 Vacation Bible School – EGYPT – Joseph’s Journey from Prison to Palace.
In Egypt, Joseph was likely one of the only followers of God.  Yet he maintained his faith and continually credited God with his success.  Through Joseph’s trials and challenges, he knew that God was in control. In fact, Joseph told his brothers, “You intend to harm me, but God intended it all for good.  He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.”  (Genesis 50:20)

DAY ONE:  God gives us hope.
Joseph interprets dreams in prison.  (Genesis 40:1-23)
“’For I know the plans I have for you’, says the Lord.  ‘They are plans for good and not for disaster,
to give you a future and a hope.’”  (Jeremiah 29:11)

DAY TWO:  God gives us special abilities.
Pharaoh puts Joseph in charge.  (Genesis 41:1-40)
“In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well.”  (Romans 12:6)

DAY THREE:  God gives us wisdom.
Joseph leads Egypt through famine.  (Genesis 41:41-42:5)
“If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you.”  (James 1:5)

DAY FOUR:  God gives us forgiveness.
Joseph forgives his brothers. (Genesis 42:6-45:15)
“But you are a God of forgiveness, gracious and merciful, slow to become angry, and rich in unfailing love.”
(Nehemiah 9;17)

DAY FIVE:  God gives us a family.
Joseph settles his family in Egypt.  (Genesis 45:16-47:27)
“For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus.”  (Galatians 3:26)

Play high-energy games, craft a spectacular sarcophagus, meet Joseph & guard Rameses, sing the theme song “One True God”, and enjoy some “ancient” snacks! The adventure begins soon … so strap on your sandals & head to EGYPT!

OPERATION KID~TO~KID MISSION PROJECT:
Our Mission Project this year is OPERATION KID~TO~KID.  Children are familiar with the need for a warm blanket on a cold night.  Operation Kid~to~Kid allows kids to share the warmth of God’s love by creating thick, soft, cuddly blankets for those kids who are affected by poverty.  This outreach program was designed to have a big impact on the kids who give and the kids who receive.  Our kids will be part of making a difference in the life of another child.  And hurting kids will have a tangible touch of God’s love.  Accompanying each blanket will be a coloring book entitled “GOD LOVES ME” with the last page being signed by the kids who help create the blanket.
